This blog is about screen classics and their stars. Big screen and small screen. Those golden days of Hollywood I grew up loving so much. As a child, in college and now in my professional life.
It’s Talking Classics because I focus on talkies rather than silent movies and, the banner may already suggest it, I am frequently presenting and reviewing the work of my favorite actress, Barbara Hale. Please check the “Barbara Hale” section to find my entries on her and actor husband Bill Williams, as well as “Perry Mason” to explore my take on Della Street.
I am usually posting three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. These are my categories:
- Talkie of the week (1930s – 60s).
- TV classics (1950s / 60s and the occasional 80s treat).
- Miscellaneous. Hollywood fun facts. Biographies. Fashion. All things vintage. Art. Music. Radio. Articles. Essays. Books. Recommendations.
News about this site or Talking Classics favorites can be found in the What’s Up section and on Facebook. But now, let’s get classy, let’s get glamorous – there are enough gems to explore

wonderful blog, thank you for reviving the good old times where glamour and glitter spledidly decorated the touch of evil
Thank you so much, dear.
They sure knew how to color the darkness back in the days. Indeed!
i would like to find an episode of What’s my line that aired july 23,1968 for a friend of mine which her mother was on . her mothers name was Linda Cottrill.
What a great idea! I’ll let you know if I stumble upon it. So far, I haven’t been lucky either.
Love the idea of this blog, I am definitely going to follow. =)
Thank you, dear, and welcome!
As beautiful as she was young she is just as beautiful inside and out the older she gets. I am talking about Barbara Hale of course.
Beautifully said. I couldn’t agree with you more.
